Getting support following a drug or alcohol related death

If you are living in Torbay and have been impacted by a drug or alcohol related death, you can access our pilot project to support you in your grief and loss.

Pete’s Dragons sudden bereavement support service provides non-judgmental support to anyone who has been impacted by a drug or alcohol related death across the Torbay area. Initially we provide a listening service to give you the opportunity to talk openly.

Our sessions, therapies, and events provide a safe and supportive environment where you can be listened to by caring individuals who follow Pete’s Dragons policies. These are not counselling sessions, but a space for you to share your feelings.

  • A one-to-one listening service - Meet regularly with a dedicated Sudden Bereavement Specialist, through face-to-face visits, over the telephone or even by email, whichever is right for you.
  • Accessing our support couldn't be easier! We have no waiting lists, no limit on session numbers and are completely free to use.
  • If we believe you would benefit from more specialised support, such as talking therapies or holistic treatments, we will provide you with full details about what the sessions entail and what you can expect before they begin.
